Simon J. Lowe – Executive Director

Simon is head of Aston’s Expert Witness and Dispute Management service stream and is based in our Sydney office. He is regularly appointed as an Expert Witness on quantum matters in formal dispute proceedings and has drafted expert reports and given oral evidence under cross-examination on numerous occasions. He also frequently sits on Dispute Adjudication Boards (both solely and as a member of a panel) and is highly proficient in claims preparation and management, dispute resolution/avoidance and contract/commercial management.
Simon has worked in Europe, the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Australia. He has almost thirty years’ diverse experience, gained on large-scale civil engineering projects including mass rapid transit systems, roads, tunnels and bridges; together with a variety of building projects including airports, hotels, hospitals, offices, industrial units and residential developments. He also has experience of managing disputes and claims on oil and gas projects.
Simon is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS); the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb); and the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB). He has delivered a number of seminars to major international organisations on contract and commercial management and dispute resolution best practices.
Originating from Yorkshire, England, Simon has a passion for international travel and is an enthusiastic attendee at live sporting events, particularly football (soccer) and cricket. He likes to relax by playing golf (bit of a hacker!) and spending time with family and friends.
