Robert Gemmell – Director
Robert is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Chartered Arbitrator and Adjudicator who also acts as Expert Determiner and is frequently instructed as Expert Witness.
Robert has over 25 years of experience in the construction and engineering industry working in both professional practice and construction contracting companies in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and the UK.
Robert is proud to be named in the Who’s Who Legal: Consulting Experts Guide, 2018 and 2019 as a leading expert in the field of Construction Quantum and Delay. Who’s Who Legal specifically says: “Robert Gemmell stands out for his deep understanding of delay and disruption costing and for his high-quality outputs” and Robert is also cited as “our expert of choice for large disputes”.
Robert is also the author of the book entitled “The Quantification of Delay and Disruption in Construction and Engineering Projects” described by His Honour Justice Vickery QC in the foreword as “an Australian work of legal scholarship and authority… not only written for application in Australia, but also internationally”.
Robert comes from the town of Shrewsbury in Shropshire in West England. As a child, Robert liked football (soccer) but since his local club Shrewsbury Town spent most seasons languishing in the relegation zone of whatever league they were in, he gave that up as a bad choice!
Robert then became a keen cyclist and has managed to cycle the length of Japan, and Malaysia, and most recently from Brisbane to Townsville – all in the name of raising funds for children’s charities. Over the years Robert and his friends have managed to raise several hundred thousand AUD$s by pedal power. Next up will be Townsville to Darwin; yes, over the coming years Robert and his friends will be cycling around the whole of Australia!!
