Debbi Smith – Business Support Executive
Debbi, originally from London, UK, started her career as a Marketing Assistant for a local based Construction Company managing, producing and delivering compelling proposals, presentations and bid responses for a diverse range of design and construction projects, along with performing office management duties to a company of 250 employees.
After travelling to Australia for the second time, Debbi enjoyed an eight month road trip from Cairns travelling clockwise to Darwin, followed by two months exploring New Zealand’s islands subsequently enjoying a “well-earned holiday” spent island hopping around Fiji – it must have been a hard life!
Returning to the UK Debbi took up another bid management and business development role for another Construction company based in east London. She was instrumental in the acquisition of ISO accreditation and business change, guiding, developing and driving business improvement and behavioural change.
Debbi then joined Mace’s Facilities Management arm at their Head Office in Central London, managing and developing FM opportunities and improving communications throughout the team. She transferred across to the Consultancy side of the business for Major Projects and Infrastructure, completing her knowledge and understanding of the full product lifecycle and attaining her International Project Management Association Certificate.
Once more, Debbi just couldn’t stay away from Australia and was given the opportunity to travel again before settling in Sydney, joining Aston Consult as Business Support Executive.
In her spare time, Debbi has two very different loves on land and in the sea; she enjoys being in the ocean, whether that be swimming, scuba diving, sailing or badly attempting to surf! She is an avid fan of marine life especially sharks and dolphins and certainly has no fear! As well as the sea she has been passionate about horse riding since the age of five. Classically trained in dressage, Debbi also trains and competes people’s horses up to Advanced Medium level.
